Welcome to the Clarke Bed&Breakfast :-)
Little by little we are settling into our new home here. I'm going to attempt some before and after shots of our apartment so you can see how it's been coming along since we arrived. When we came back we walked into a jumble of suitcases and boxes since we had only had time to deliver our belongings to the apartment before our trip home to America for the summer.
Our apartment this time was completely unfurnished so we've been picking up a little here and a little there. We have some very generous friends who have donated furniture they aren't using at this time to help us out. It has been quite a challenge to furnish an entire apartment, but fun also! What girl doesn't like the chance to re-decorate and pick out some "new furniture". In the end we didn't actually have to buy very much at the store. We were able to pick up a couch, armchair, coffee table, carseats, and 2 beds from friends. That left us with one bed, a wardrobe, a desk, and a table to purchase at the furniture market.
Since we were back in the states this summer I was able to pick up lots of fun stuff to help out the decorating process like wall stickers for the kids, curtains, and photo frames. Maddie had to wait until this week to finally have her room decorated. She loves it, although she's too afraid to sleep in it alone :-) She was very concerned when I told her daddy was going to pick up her bed, until I assured her she could still sleep in Robbie's room for the time being. Then she loved the idea of having a spot for her own favorite pictures of family and friends, her clothes, and her dolls. Robbie's pirate themed room isn't exactly girly :-) Her room is being used as part of the Clarke Bed&Breakfast. We have had 6 different people as overnight company for 18 of the 32 days since our arrival here. PTL He knew our needs ahead of time and provided us with an apartment that has 1 extra bedroom (since Maddie prefers sleeping in Robbie's room) and also a 2nd full bathroom. We have put every room of the apartment to good use. And although it has been challenging at times to have company before we were settled in or had our bearings, we have seriously enjoyed every single one of the people passing through our home. They are all wonderful friends and have blessed us with good company and laughter. Our home is always full of good friends, fellowship, food, and smiles; we wouldn't have it any other way.
We are eagerly anticipating some more great company in the next month or so with the arrival our new nephew Silas we will hopefully have Ella for a few days, then Carrie, Mac, and Carson for a little get-away, then Alex&Bethany in the end of October, and maybe a few other friends from PA in November. Bring it on! The Clarke Bed&Breakfast is officially in business and as of this week will be fully furnished and mostly decorated! Yay! We would love to have you for a guest, so if you are ever on this side of the world our door is open to friends and family :-)
