Milestones

2014 is a year with a lot of milestones for me.  Some of them are silly and some big, but they mean something to me.  I find myself very reflective these days, wondering where the time has gone, and where it is going?  It definitely is fleeting. This year is 10 years since my graduation from university.  It seems so long ago and just like yesterday depending on where I am and who I am talking to.  Study for those tests, laughing with those friends, looking ahead with the whole world in front of me.  Some days I still feel like that girl, but more days than not I don't.  I think she is fading. The next even more monumental 10 year anniversary will be my wedding.  I've been married for 10 years as of this summer.  10 years.  How is that possible?  This one always gets me.  Married for 10 years is no little blip on the radar.  I definitely feel too young for this one.  I distinctly remember sitting in the newlywed SS...

Our Chinese New Year holiday has come to an end.  Going from 4 years of a two month holiday down to a 10 day holiday is quite a blow.  We will just say the 10 days went pretty fast.  They were filled with friends, family, and fun.  Kicking off the New Year season, our school had Chinese Culture Day.  We had fun getting dressed up and watching the kids perform Chinese songs and dances with their classmates.  Next year we need to step it up and get matching family outfits to get more into the spirit.  We were so proud of our kids.  Watching them use the Chinese they have worked so hard to develop was amazing!  We can't believe how well they are doing.  Rob was selected to start off the fashion parade.  He was thrilled :-)   The students made fans, kites, dumplings, and paper cuttings.
