Welcome Back
So we are back in the good old U.S.A. At least we think we are.....sometimes we are not sure because of massive jet-lag disorientation. It randomly strikes, leaving us completely confused and feeling like a mac truck just hit. But, as we emerge from the fog, we are really enjoying being back in the familiar. I hesitate to say, being home, because this is no longer our home, but it is a place we hold dear. We are cherishing the hugs and the faces of our parents and siblings, capturing in our hearts these precious moments of watching our children laugh in delight at their grandparents, and enjoying being re-united with good friends.
Tonight we had the great privilege of spending the evening with truly great friends. I hope they know how much they mean to us. It is rare to find a friend who truly understands you, whom you totally trust, and can completely relax with. It is even rarer to find a friend who shares your passions in life, who knows what drives you, and supports you 100%. It is amazingly rare to find this in a couple that you and your spouse can completely agree upon to be this kind of a friend to you both, and who even have children that enjoy each other. We are so thankful to have such friends. These are the kind of friends that have your back, and when they say they are praying for you, you know they actually really are. They remember you often and although you are far apart, they stop to wonder how something might be for you and send you a note and whisper a prayer on your behalf. They take time to find out how you are, how you really are.
This will be a crazy busy summer and our travel schedule is discouraging for me to look at, but there are a few really fun things we are looking forward to this summer, spending time with family, gorging ourselves on unhealthy American food, driving a car, and spending time with friends like these who really make the whole thing worthwhile.
